Upamanyu Mallik Cricket Tournament in Bhubaneshwar

The inaugural Upamanyu Mallik cricket tournament was held in BMC grounds Bharatpur, Bhubaneshwar with 36 children participating in league matches playing in six mixed gender teams. The principals of the participating schools and the parents of Upamanyu Mallik, Ranjan Kumar Mallik and Sumona DasGupta actively encouraged the players and also gave away the cup for the best team. It was a magical day at the BMC grounds with just the right amount of light rain that cooled the players down. The matches began with all the players taking at oath to play the matches in the true spirit of the game and keeping in mind the importance of playing fairly and compassionately. A new energy was introduced into the finals with the start of the commentary which kept everyone in high spirits! Team mates were seen encouraging and motivating one another and a spirit of camaraderie prevailed through the day which was heartwarming to watch.
