At the age of 5 Upamanyu moved to Delhi and spent many happy school years at Mother International School from where he completed his 12th standard in 2011. He was a regular at the annual school trips, was a member of the Maths club, developed a voracious appetite for reading and a keen interest in quizzes that continued into college days. He actively played table tennis, lawn tennis and of course cricket. He loved travelling and discovering new places, exploring wild life, visiting museums.
